Bath is a lakefront village in Loyalist Township, west of Kingston on the Loyalist Parkway. United Empire Loyalists settled it in 1784, making it one of the oldest communities in Ontario. It had 2,154 people in 2016, up 10.1% from 2011.

Ernestown becomes Bath

Discharged soldiers from Jessup's Rangers were the first settlers, and the 1784 Bath Road along the lakefront is now the Loyalist Parkway. A sheltered harbour and road links to Kingston helped the village prosper. It was first named Ernestown and renamed Bath in 1819 after the English city. In the 1850s it was a busy lakefront manufacturing village of 400 to 1,000 people, until the York Road (1817), the Grand Trunk Railway (1856) and Highway 401 (1964) each passed it by.
